Jewell R. Powell's Main Accomplishments Include . . .

Jewell R. Powell, affectionately known as ‘The Marriage Coach’ is an inspirational teacher/speaker, entrepreneur and best selling author with a heart and passion for helping couples have great marriages and helping women live purposeful lives. Jewell’s message attracts mainly women. She encourages and coaches women with practical tools from her own life on how they, too, can develop lives of meaning and purpose.

One of the greatest assets of Jewell’s message is her “keepin’ it real” delivery. She is willing to open the most intimate details of her life to help others find the courage to overcome any obstacles they may be facing.

Writing is one of Jewell's passions. She is the author of Marriage 101 published by Revell/Baker Publishing February 2009. Marriage 101 is the first marriage book with a curriculum written for the African American Christian market.  She enjoys writing poetry, which she describes as her “psalms to God.” She has written a Marriage 101 mini series that consists of such topics as: Sex & Intimacy, Communication, Parenting, and Finance. She recently completed her first children’s book to be published in 2010.

An avid student who loves to learn, Jewell graduated from VCMI Ministerial Training School with a two-year certificate. She also has a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree in contracts management from the Florida Institute of Technology. She has started a second master’s degree program at Regent University, School of Divinity.

Jewell tackles tough topics that every person can relate to—topics that many people think about but few have the courage to discuss, especially concerning marriage. She passionately shares what she has learned about how to have a successful marriage. Much of her life message is based on the power of faith, hope, and love.

Jewell believes that couples can have a “happily ever after” marriage if they decide to build their foundation on a few basic “Marriage 101” principles. The institution of marriage is seen in a whole new light when she takes the stage! Her popular keynote address “Who’s to Blame and Who Has to Change!” is the result of her wanting a better marriage but realizing that it started with her. Very transparent, Jewell speaks intimately of how she and her husband were facing divorce and how they reconciled. She talks of the many challenges they had to overcome, including infertility, abuse, working together, and more. She talks about what she learned about how to be a biblical wife and the power of unconditional love. She is confident that God desires that every couple have a happy and fulfilling marriage—and you can, too, when you live and love by faith.

Jewell is an encourager at heart and enjoys encouraging couples to reach their highest potential together in their marriage relationships.

Jewell has spent the last ten years working with her husband, building a successful management consulting company, Antiok Holdings, Inc. She has also started her own company, Grace Publishing, which will publish books for new authors and will be an avenue for personally mentoring them to be successful and profitable authors. Lewis and Jewell started the “Happily Ever After” Marriage Ministry to encourage couples in having happy and fulfilling marriages.

Jewell lives with her husband and two beautiful daughters in Southern Maryland. She loves to spend time with family and friends. In her spare time, she devours books and spends too much time shopping. Jewell believes that life is what you make it; therefore, the sky is the limit.
