Local Author and Marriage Coach Signs Book Deal with Revell of Baker Publishing

Indian Head, MD (1/23/08)—Local author Jewell Powell, who is also President of Grace Publishing Inc. based in Indian Head MD, announced today that Marriage 101, her most recent self-published book will be published by Revell, a division of Baker Publishing, which offers practical books that bring the Christian faith to everyday life. They have published best selling authors such as Willard Harley's His Needs, Her Needs, NY bestselling author Don Piper 90 Minutes in Heaven, and books by James Dobson and Bishop Eddie L. Long to name a few.

There are approximately 2.5 million weddings per year. Marriage 101 is intended to help brides transition to wives. Since she and her husband reconciled their own marriage, Powell is passionate about helping others. "Since all marriages will eventually have challenges, not only will Marriage 101 help their situation, but I will be very involved in helping them succeed" says Powell.  Marriage 101 provides a website www.marriage101.us which has articles, an open question and answer forum, blogging, teleclasses, and other marriage resource links to help couples.

"Most marriage books are written from a skill or psychological perspective. This is where I feel other books and authors fall short. Readers can relate to Marriage 101 because I've been there and I'm just like them. I haven't arrived, I still have challenges but I deal with them differently. What I've learned is that marriage is a journey not a destination," says Powell.

The Marriage 101 book and workbook, was written to help those who are starting on their journey. It will encourage couples to understand they can have a happily ever after; educate couples to understand the basic biblical principles to have a great marital foundation; and empower them by giving them practical guidance on how they can maintain a long lasting fulfilling relationship.

"How can you start the journey with having a wedding in the church yet don't have the practical information that will help you throughout your journey?" says Powell. "Marriage 101 is a message of hope and faith."

Jewell R. Powell is passionate about her message and has been helping others since 2003 on how to have a great marriage. She is a sought out speaker helping people to understand the basic principles of marriage. She and her husband are founders of Happily Ever After Marriage Ministry which will equip and empower couples to overcome their challenges that so often cause marriages to end in divorce. She lives in Southern Maryland with her spouse of 12 years and two daughters.
